MeskipunParamoretidak memenangkan satupun piala penghargaan dalam MTV Video Music Awards 2010, namunParamoresukses memukau para penonton dengan penampilan mereka di Nokia Theatre, Los Angeles, Minggu (12/09) . Dan penampilan ini diakui sebagai salah satu penampilan terbaik di acara tersebut.
Diawali dengan penampilan Bruno Mars yang menyanyikan Nothing on You, disusulB.o.B dengan rapnya yang kemudian dilanjutkan dengan chorus Airplanes yang dinyanyikan oleh Haylie. Dan saat itu, Haylie membuktikan kepiawaiannya dari seorang penyanyi dengan hook hip-hop menjadi seorang rock $ roll frontwoman.
Meskipun voting yang dilakukan para penggemar meminta Paramore menyanyikanPlaying God, namun akhirnya pilihan jatuh pada sebuah lagu yang dipercaya banyak orang sebagai lagu terbaik dalam album BRAND NEW EYES, bahkan lagu terbaikParamore sepanjang masa, The Only Exception.
Dan dengan lagu itulah medley Bruno Mars, B.o.B, Haylie berakhir. Dengan sebuah nomor ballad yang pelan namun sangat emosional itu, Paramore menunjukkan bahwa mereka bukan band kacangan yang hanya bisa dipandang sebelah mata.
